Blog Tag

This is a fun little game!
Anyhow, if I tag you, all you have to do is just go to the place on your computer where you store your photos, then to the sixth folder, then to the sixth photo. Select that photo, pop it onto your blog and tell the story. Then you choose people to tag...
Here's my pic because I got tagged by Becky over at PageMaps :)

This is a bunch of stone archways at Gasworks Park in Seattle. It's a park that I've always loved to visit (even when I was little). On this particular day, I went with my kids and it was a nice sunny day. I just loved the way the shadows looked almost like stair steps.

I am actually tagging friends & family from my other blog since I don't have any listed on here yet, so, I am going to tag:

Amanda

Susanne

Unfortunately, I don't have emails for anyone else...

Inspiration

I have been doing some challenges for some contests at House of Paper and have come to realize that I am relying on sketches so much more now that I am doing them on a regular basis. It takes almost nothing for me to lay out the photos how I want them and then sketch around them how I think the rest of the layout should be! I have begun keeping a small notebook in my scrappy space just so I can do this. Here's a couple of recent ones that I think came out really well!

As you can tell, I've been using a lot of shaped paper lately. I actually bought a pack of shaped papers cheap at Target and have been using those as templates. Not only does it add some pizazz to the layouts, but then I don't have to worry about whether or not it matches my layout.

Let Me Know!

Just another quick note here... if any of my sketches inspire something beautiful, I want to see it! Post a link in my comments on the post of the sketch you used so I can check it out :)
Thanks!

Stitch Stitch Away...

I have one new sketch to post this week, and I have an example! I finally broke down and decided to scan and stitch together the example with my little 8 1/2 x 11 scanner. Photographing is so much easier! I even contemplated using my Blackberry to photograph & upload it, but the picture quality is just not what I want for it... I will be posting some other sketches later on, maybe this weekend. I have lots of ideas rolling around in my head!

Pagemaps contest entry

Pagemaps is having a contest based on a sketch & there's some yummy prizes! Here's my take on their sketch... I did this as a digital page because A) This photo was super fuzzy when it was printed and B) My card reader is still not working properly. I love how it turned out!

My very first sketch

I like to use sketches to inspire me... help me break out of the mold, but I didn't start sketching anything myself until a couple months ago... I usually just throw everything together as I go, but I am finding that the more elaborate the LO, the more I like to have a sketch to follow, especially if I have a couple days between when I start the LO and actually get to finish it. This is my actual first ever sketch that I did for myself and the layout I did with it!

Welcome to...

Drawn to Scrapping! I have a normal (sort of) photography blog and I am a HUGE scrapbooker. Unfortunately, I don't feel my scrapping really belongs on a photography blog, or vice versa, hence the creation of this new one. My hope is that, in sharing my inspirations and creations, I will inspire others as well. I will be posting some of my own sketches and layouts as well as layouts I find on other blogs & sites that inspire me. And, since I am also a very frugal scrapbooker, any awesome deals I come across on the many scrappy/ craft sites I visit, I will pass along to you as well!
